Fortis Australian Shepherds started when my husband Jason and I purchased our first Aussie Roka  in 2007 from Gail Stephens of Kirrabilli Australian Shepherds. From there it didn't take us long to be hooked on this wonderful, intelligent, versatile breed!  From around 2008-2015, I had been working with with other people's dogs,  offering private and group training as well as private (one on one) mannered walks to clients, including a training centre in Toronto.

Throughout the years however, I have been very fortunate to be able to spend significant time meeting and learning from some very wonderful breeders, mentors and friends in the breed as well as to continue to learn about proper structure, health and nutrition for the Australian Shepherd. 

I actively show all of our breeding crew in conformation and will transition back over to include competitive sports time permitting. All of breeding stock is from health tested lines and are they, themselves tested for genetic tests available that are not clear by parentage, yearly eye clearances, as well as hips and elbow's x-rayed and rated by O.F.A. and or PENN HIP. 

 

Puppies will be seen by a board certified ophthalmologist, vaccinated, de-wormed age appropriate and have tails and dew claws re-moved, as well as micro chipped. All puppies will also be registered with the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and are eligible for registration with both ASCA* & AKC **

Our dogs are fed a  RAW diet, however realizing that this is not always possible for everyone, we will send those that choose not to with quality kibble that they may transition their puppy onto once in their new home. Otherwise, we send our puppies home with food they have already been weaned onto.

Show homes are by private treaty (all litter's are registered with *ASCA, individual registration are by owner dependent upon contract agreement)
